Meet the Director: Jamie Schmidt
 
While growing up in Syracuse, New York in the 80's and 90's, I fell in love with the sport. I ended my college playing career at the State University of New York at Potsdam in 1997 and was named the Player of the Year in the conference after leading the league in scoring.

After moving to Charlotte in 2000, I began teaching lower school at Providence Day School. I helped start the 1st lacrosse program in Charlotte (CLA- Team Carolina) and founded Playlax (formerly Cool Kids) in 2002.  
 
I've coached every age and every level- including travel teams and beginner programs from 1st grade all the way up to college. I enjoy each level tremendously, but teaching the basics has always come natural to me given my teaching background. I love watching players progress and develop a life long love for the game.​
